JOURNALS OF THOUGHTS

WHAT IF LIFE WAS A FAIRYTALE?

I am sure no one has escaped the saying “life is not a bed of roses”, true, but what if it were? What does that even mean? Honestly, never mind this chain of thought; I want to ramble on about…my point is, what if life is the exact opposite of what we think it is?

I have often sat pondering on the meaning of life, the value, and the essence…I have asked myself what the most important thing in life. Needless to say, this is an ongoing, everyday question for me and with each passing day, the dynamics of my desires mutate, inefficiently handicapped in handling the perplexity of this meaningless consequence.

We are enslaved by our beliefs. What if our life is influenced by our belief system, and all the things we face are a product of things aforethought? I know this is inherently true on some levels, yet some inexplicable things befall an individual that may never have been within the contemplation of such a person.

Does that mean that life is not exclusively in the realm of what we imagine? Does it mean that reality, though distinct and alterable, exists on a certain template?

I mean, just because your life is beautiful, should that connote an absence of chaos? Or is it because there is chaos that your life is beautiful? Is meaningfulness attached to experiences, or does our appreciation of purpose foster meaningfulness that produces such experiences?

If life is a fairy tale, if the saying were “life is a bed of roses”, what colour then is your rose? Come to think of it, though, roses have thorns; is it for their protection, or is this an evolution of beauty? Like from thorns to petals.

If my life were a bed of roses, I think I would like to constantly live in what matters, to see things clearly both as they are and ought to be and live up to the needed reality. To be capable of producing all that I need and want in the exact moment of need, without any destructive possibility.

In my bed of roses, I would be capable of erasing my mistakes or never be capable of making one in the first place. I would be surrounded by laughter, love, and support constantly; be incapable of hurting others or being hurt; and be able to transform between realities.

Okay, enough abstract thinking… My bed of roses life may look like being able to be anything I want each day. Imagine trying out being a tech founder on Monday, president on Tuesday, Artist on Wednesday, being Michael Jackson on Thursday, scuba instructor on Friday, Teacher on Saturday, and somehow maintaining your “original” life. Let Sunday even be for practising dying and starting over.

Okay, enough thinking for me.

Xoxo,
